How can Prescribe work through Windows?

Software: Windows 95/98, Windows NT, Windows XP/2000

Microsoft Windows is designed to print accurately what is on the screen or in a document. This means that Windows does not directly support the operation after inserting Prescribe commands into an application.
Windows 95 incorporates improved printing facilities and is therefore more likely to attempt to print the Prescribe commands by splitting up the words.

Solution

The way around this is to present Prescribe in a method that Windows will not modify or split up during printing. The following are the basic rules to get Prescribe to print inside a Windows application:

-  Do not put any spaces in the Prescribe command.
- Each Prescribe command must be complete on one line. The Prescribe start and end commands must be on the same line as the relevant Prescribe command or commands.
- Use a printer font (e.g. LinePrinterBM or PRESCRIBE) and also the correct font size for that font. (E.g. LinePrinterBM has 7 and 9 point sizes available)
