Actually there are more than 58,500 (!) employees working in our company: Please allow me to explain a little about our parent company, the Kyocera Group.
The main headquarters of Kyocera are located in Kyoto. Kyoto is an international and extremly beautiful town, and also a city that symbolises Japan - I am sure, some of you will have already visited Kyoto.
Allthough the headquarters of the Kyocera Corporation are based in Kyoto, Kyocera is a global company that conducts business throughout the world, in Europe, the United States Asia and Oceania, not only in Japan. The company is listed on both the NY Stock Exchange and the Japanese Stock Exchange.
Kyocera is known for it´s high profitability and has not once been in the red in it´s entire 46-year history. In March 2005, Kyocera Group reported year-end sales for fiscal year 2005 of 8 Billion 746 Million Euro. Kyocera has 181subsidiaries and affiliated companies and a total of 58,559 employees (not encluding those from the affiliated companies). The Kyocera Group was established on the 1st of April 1959.
